Introducing In My Voice -- A faith and reflection blog about what I've lived, am living, and yet discovering.

I find it interesting that I've named this blog In My Voice because it will rely on written words and not spoken words. However, I chose to stick with the name, In My Voice, because I realize that every day, every part of my body speaks. My brain speaks through signals and receives sensory information. My fingers dance a rhythm across the keyboard, adding the graffiti of curved black text on white screens. My eyes tell me if I'm interested or in need of a sweet slumber, my ears confide in me when the sounds I hear are horrid or harmonious. My heart growls famishedly when in need of spiritual food.

Every part of me has voice. God has granted me the grace to listen for God's teachings with my whole being; not just with my ears but with my eyes, my skin, and my breath. God has given me the gift to speak. There's a scripture in Isaiah 50:4 NRSV that I love. It reads,

The Lord God has given me the tongue of a teacher, that I may know how to sustain the weary with a word. Morning by morning, he wakens -- wakens my ear to listen as those who are taught.

What I share on this blog will come from deep listening. from reflecting on the everyday beauty of God's presence in unsuspected places; from remembering the wonder of God's whispers in the morning's wake.

The form of each blog may vary. Some days it might be a simple prayer, other days it may read poetically, or I might write about something that leaped off the page while I was studying scripture. I may get on my health soapbox or write candidly about the times I felt like climbing under a box to avoid a "tuff" situation. What ties it all together is that it’s really the Rae (the way) I see, listen, feel, and speak. This is my faith and reflection blog written in my voice. Wow -- that felt great to say! I'm so excited about this! I look forward to your joining me on this journey.

I pray these posts serve as seeds of hope or that they water seeds of faith already planted in your heart. May you feel comforted, encouraged, loved, beautiful, and most importantly, seen.

Thank you for reading. Let’s see where this goes.
